Situated between the beautiful Lakes Thun and Brienz, and at the foot of the Bernese Alps, Interlaken is one of Switzerland’s most popular tourist towns, the stunning alpine scenery will have you eager to get outdoors and breathe in the fresh mountain air.
The town is the gateway for excursions to Jungfraujoch (top of Europe) and Schilthorn (famous for James Bond 007), as well as numerous other mountains and villages in the area, with over 45 mountain railways, cable cars, chair lifts and ski lifts lead to 200 kilometers of pistes and a dense network of hiking trails.

Harder Kulm funicular station to access the view point and restaurant, at 1322 metres above sea level, is located 2 minutes walk from Interlaken Ost train station, where you can enjoy a magnificent view to Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau as well as Lakes Brienz and Thun.
Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Murren and Wengen are all located in the Jungfrau Region and are within 30 minutes of Interlaken, accessible by car or train from the Interlaken Ost railway station.
In Grindelwald you can enjoy local restaurants with Swiss cuisine, a famous ski school, summer hikes, and the Mount First and Grindelwald Glacier, accessible by cable car.
Across the valley is Lauterbrunnen, surrounded by 72 waterfalls, the gateway for visits to the Schilthorn and the villages of Murren and Wengen.
The car-free villages of Wengen and Murren sit above Lauterbrunnen, and are popular in both summer and winter, with plenty to offer.
